Cevapcici

Cevapcici is a traditional Bosnian dish, but is also found in a lot of other balkan countries. Cevapcici is ususally served with flatbread, chopped onion, peppers, sour cream and ajvar. 

I served my cevapcici with a pitta bread instead. 


Cevapcici - serves 2


Ingredients:

3.5 ounces minced beef
1 pinch baking soda
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 pinch paprika, hot or smoked
1 tsp salt
2 cloves of garlic
1 tbsp water

2 tsp oil
lettuce
1 red onion
1 green pepper
4 tbsp greek yoghurt
2 flatbreads or pittas

Instructions:

1. Mix the spices and water and leave for 5 minutes.

2. Mix the meat with the spiced water and make small sausage shaped meatballs. Fry in the oil 6-8 minutes.

3. Serv the cevapcicis in warm flatbreads with chopped onion, sliced pepper, lettuce and yoghurt.
